Tell HN: Google Denies OS Support for Pixel from Non-Licenced Retailer
I just had one of the most absurd chats with support from my new Pixel 9 Pro Phone. I have an esim that cannot be deleted. The service agent first tried to push the responsibility to the mobile carrier, when that did not work he said he is not responsible because I bought the phone through a 'non-licensed' reseller (actually one of the larger German IT stores). I was surprised that Google even had a customer support chat, but this was actually the most rediculous support experience in a long time.
